Outlaw all lobbyists

The sole purpose of all Washington, D.C., lobbyists, like Jack Abramoff, is to influence legislators on behalf of special interests.

Our readers recommend:

U.S. senators and congressmen or whosoever shamelessly accepts lobbyist bribes are just as disreputable as the lobbyists. Not all legislators are on the take, but who knows who is who?

Most people I speak with agree the very concept and practice of lobbying should be illegal and outlawed. This will never happen because the legislators who accept the lobbyists' sleazy briberies are one and the same who make the laws of the land.

Will Rogers once said, "If we have senators and congressmen there that can't protect themselves against the evil temptations of lobbyists, we don't need to change our lobbies, we need to change our representatives." Mark Twain quipped, "It could probably be shown by facts and figures that there is no distinctly native American criminal class except Congress."
