Krispy Kreme building to become convenience store

A Circle K convenience store and gas station is set to replace the closed Krispy Kreme doughnut shop on California Avenue and Stockdale Highway.

Circle K has signed a lease to occupy part of the former Krispy Kreme building and plans to add a gas canopy to the property, according to Tim Siegel of the LS Realty Group. Siegel said negotiations are ongoing for the remainder of the former Krispy Kreme property.
Circle K is expected to open in early 2007.
The building has been vacant since Krispy Kreme closed in November 2005.
